The goal of CimpleOnDemand Web Community is to help administrators, teachers, parents and students worldwide in K-12 education.  They are many challenges facing schools today.  A big one for middle and high school administrators is scheduling “all” their students based upon their individual needs; including students with special needs.  Many administrators are frustrated with the technology in their schools.  They may be unhappy with the software in use.  They may feel inadequate training was provided.  They may complain about support, but no one listens. Community Support is a big benefit to becoming a member of the web community.  You can participate in group discussions with fellow administrators, for example, that are trying to solve the same problem.  You can work together as a group to solve the problem or a member of the community, with prior first-hand experience, could offer the group a solution.  That is, what he or she did at his or her school to make it work.  In addition, an Educational Consultant could join the discussion and provide their advice.

 

Free Membership also gives you access to Community Resources, a digital library where you can download, for instance, scheduling solutions submitted by members that provide a model for what could be done by you to solve a particular problem at your school.  The library also contains other documents that you can download such as online lessons and user manuals.  And, you can download software tools, for example, a utility to export finished schedules into another system.

 

Members can enroll in a Professional Development Program.  This training program is for administrators to learn the skills needed and the methods used to schedule a school.  For members that never received any formal scheduling training, this Program is highly recommended.  In addition, members can receive one-to-one help from an Educational Consultant with years and years of scheduling experience.  The fee for this Professional Service is based upon the number of hours of expert help that is needed.    For example, a introductory corporate sponsorship of $500, would give a member ten (10) half-hour web-sessions, which can be used at anytime during the year.

Grouped by level and by subject, for example, “Middle School Scheduling Challenges,” discussions provide a way for members to focus in and to talk about a particular area of interest.  And within that subject area, they can become part of the group discussion on a specific topic, for instance, “Meeting the needs of special students.”  Similar to a chat-room with messages being sent back and forth, but different because any member can become part of the discussion and whatever messages sent are captured for all to see and to benefit.  You can ask questions, you can raise concerns, you can provide answers, you can ask for help, and much more. It’s simple and easy to register.  On the Home Page in the top right hand corner click on “Join.”  You will be asked some very basic questions including your name and your e-mail address.  Membership is free, but you must accept the Terms of Use.  After you submit your registration, an e-mail will be sent to you with an approved link.  Open that e-mail, click on the link, and then sign in using your membership name and password.  That’s it.  You are an official member of the CimpleOnDemand Web-Community for K-12 Education.
