A small team of people (at least two) is needed to build a master schedule for a high school. For example, the Principal and Director of Guidance or Head Counselor, make a good team. The Principal of the building is needed to make administrative decisions when necessary, that the individual, for example, Director of Guidance or Assistant Principal, cannot make. From time to time during the building process administrative decisions will have to be made as to who can teach the course. The Principal may consult with the department chair, to see if he or she agrees, but ultimately, it is his decision.
